Couples & Kids - September 11, 2010

What a great weekend of fishing and eating. Vic and Deb Cunningham, our current Anglers of the Year, also became our Couples Division Champions! They took first place with 25.22 lbs, total weight, followed very closely by Jason and Jo Schmidt who weighed in 24.89 lbs, and Bobby and Glenda O’Donnell rounded out the top three with 20.80 lbs.

Of special note, our youngest angler in the championship tournament, Hannah Bryant, tied for 2nd big bass on day one with a 2.8 lb. bass!

At the pot luck on Friday night, Bobby O’Donnell announced a couple of new items for the up coming season. First, he will have a goon fish 50/50 option, so be prepared to bring in a catfish, a walleye or something other than a bass. Secondly, he will have a "Last Place Certificate" which will pay the basic entry for the team that finishes last into the next tournament. (No, you cannot roll it over; it must be used at the very next tournament.) If there is a tie for last place, then the winner of the certificate will be determined by drawing, AND you must be present to win.

The first Allstar Bass Couples and Kids/Best Bet Aluminum Boat tournament will be October 16th at Bartlett. The pot luck will be Friday night in the parking lot. All the rules, entry fees and options will be the same for both tournaments.
